  4.     Gnome can play your CDs on your computer.  You can setup you
  5.     CD preferences in the <guibutton>CD Properties</guibutton> capplet
  6.     in the <guilabel>Advanced</guilabel> section of the
  7.     <application>Gnome Control Center</application>.

  10.     Once open, you'll see the window is broken into two sections: Data
  11.     CDs and Audio CDs.

  14.     <title>Data CDs</title>
  15.     <para>
  16.       Data CDs are CDs which hold information that the system can
  17.       execute.  These often times include CDs that have programs or a
  18.       CD which you burned family pictures to.

  21.       The first option is <guibutton>Automatically mount CD when
  22.       inserted</guibutton>.  By enabling this option, you can have
  23.       your CD auto-detected when you insert it.

  26.       <title>What is mounting</title>
  27.       <para>
  28.     Linux and Unix systems use a term called mounting to identify
  29.     recognizing a device.  If you "mount" your CD-ROM, that means
  30.     that your system can recognize the CD-ROM and you can interact
  31.     with it.  If it us unmounted, then the system does not know of
  32.     its existance and can do almost nothing with it.

  36.       The second option, <guibutton>Automatically start auto-run
  37.       program on newly mounted CD</guibutton> allows the system to run
  38.       the program on the CD automatically when the disk is first mounted.

  41.       The last option, <guibutton>Open file manager window for newly
  42.       mounted CD</guibutton> tells the system to open your file
  43.       manager (<application>Nautilus</application> by default) when the
  44.       CD is mounted.  This is useful if you have a CD of images from
  45.       your family reunion you wish to browse.  It will open up in
  46.       <application>Nautilus</application> which will let you view the
  47.       thumbnails.

  53.       The <guilabel>Audio CDs</guilabel> section has only one option.
  54.       This allows the system to load up a CD player when you insert
  55.       the CD.  You simply click the checkbox and enter the command you
  56.       wish to run in the input dialog.
